l '300' and loosely based on the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC. The Persian King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) threatens to rule over Sparta and the rest of Greece. When the Spartan King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) hears about this, he decides to put an end to it. He takes 300 of his finest soldiers and goes out to stop King Xerxes.
I LOVE this movie! It was so beautiful and just amazing. Currently, it's my movie of the year. The graphics, fighting style, cinamatography was absolutley beautiful. It was gorgeous. The acting was so brilliant. I loved the way, Zack Snyder, made Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) a powerful character. It gave empowerment to women, in a time when there was not much power. What I thought was even more beautiful was the fact that King Leonidas, new and aknowledged Queen Gorgo's power. In fact, she even tells him to push the
man into the pit. He asks her. (In a subtle way, of course). Overall it was fantastic. The acting was so amazing and it left me feeling pumped and energized. I almost wish I was a Spartan. It was wonderfully done. The only reason this is getting a 9 and not a 10 is because, the only thing I didn't like about the film, was the animal violence. I do understand that Spartan's aren't supposed to feel anything, and that it was necessary, but I love animals and that whole part kind of made me feel uncomftorable. Other than that, the film was brilliantly done. Congratulations to all.
