A rookie race car named Lightining McQueen (Owen Wilson) gets waylaid in a small town called Radiator Springs. He ruined the road on the town, when he was "crashing" into it. So, the cars living in the town decide to make him stay until he fixes the road. However he has to get to California for a racing competition for the Piston cup.

When I rented Cars, I also rented Over the Hedge. I thought Cars was going to be unfullfilling, and Over the Hedge would be hilarious, but it turned out it was the other way around. Cars was very enjoyable and very funny. I didn't find any of the characters annoying, except maybe Chick Hicks (Michael Keaton). But I think that was on purpose. Anyways. It was a really good film. The storyline was good, the characters were great, it was hilarious. I was not bored druing it. Not at all. Kudos to Cars.
