I liked this film. It surprised me. A lot. I actually didn't know what it was about when I started watching, but the way it was filmed and the entire story was very...original and unique. It was filmed with old cameras and equipment, which gave the entire movie a very old feeling to it, but in a very artsy kind of way. The technique and visual styles weren't anything that I've seen before. It was very interesting. Besides the very dark theme to this film, it as spontaneous random moments of humour. The concept of the whole movie was very intelligent and interesting. While watching part of the making of this film, I learned that they had people from different cultures come and audition for a part in the film and they asked them to play what they thought was the saddest song. And they used what the original musicians picked, in the movie. I thought that was very cool and true to the different cultures.
This is out on DVD. I give it a 7/10. Sincerly, DirtyVelvet |
