Eisenheim (Edward Norton) is an illusionist. As a teenager, he fell in love with Sophie (Jessuca Biel), a duchess far above his social status. She too falls in love with him. They plan on leaving together, but the police catch them and they are seperated. Many years later, Sophie and Eisenheim recognize each other, at one of Eisenheim's performances. They begin to have a secret affair, for Sohpie is being forced to marry the Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). But, once again, they want to run away together. Will they make it this time?
I really liked this film. Some people said the end was predictable, but I didn't really see it coming. I loved Edward Norton in it. He did an amazing job. I did think the end bit with the camera spinning around Paul Giamatti while he was laughing, was a little lame and pretty ridiculous, but other than that, I thought the movie was great. I say see it if you like Edward Norton and magic.
7/10
Here is the trailer and a bit of a scene.
