Taglines: -A single shot can end the war. -Every soldier stands beside a hero. -All it takes to win is the right picture. -The real heroes are the ones left on the island. Starring: -Ryan Phillippe -Adam Beach -Jesse Bradford The film follows the story of the 6 men who raised the American flag in Iwo Jima. Only 3 of them survived and were used as a progaganda tool by the government to get American's to buy more bonds.
For a war movie, I really liked this. It was touching, and I thought it depicted how war really was for these guys. The post-traumatic stress, the flashbacks and memories that stay with them for the rest of their lives. It was very well done, the acting was great. I really liked it, it was fantastic. The film 'Letters from Iwo Jima' is the Japanese viewpoint of the same war. As soon as it's out on DVD, I'm seeing that one. Even if you don't like war movies, I think you should see this. It was sad, and I think, very realistic.
